Standing at 6’11”, Igor Bakovic certainly stands out in a room, and not just for his dominating height. Having played professional basketball in Europe for four years, he brings a deep passion and unique perspective into his role as he leads the DuPage Sports Commission (DSC) forward in mission and vision. Since joining DSC in 2021, he has developed relationships with a number of NGBs and event organizers throughout the sports industry, attracting many new events to the area, including 22 during his first year. Those who work with Backovic say it is his charisma and ability to relate to both athletes and planners that makes him so successful in his role.
