Brian Mirakian is a senior principal at Populous and serves as director of brand activation in the Americas, which features an innovative approach that powerfully brings brands to life through design. Through a core focus on future-forward innovation, next-gen consumerism and connective strategy in the gaming, entertainment and hospitality industries, he creates opportunities for his clients by elevating their brands and businesses, amplifying engagement by linking people to immersive user experiences on all levels. Mirakian recently led the design for Comcast’s G4 Studios in Burbank, California, the groundbreaking Fusion Arena, home to the Blizzard Overwatch Philadelphia Fusion, and the first purpose-built esports arena venue of its kind in the western hemisphere, the North American national roll-out for the Nerd Street Gamers’ Localhost gaming facility program. He was also the project director for the largest esports venue in North America, Esports Stadium Arlington. His award-winning work has been featured on the Discovery Channel and garnered international acclaim in publications such as The New York Times, Wall Street Journal, Fast Company, Wired, Robb Report and Sports Illustrated. He has helped create transformative design solutions for his clients, having collaborated with nearly every professional team, some of the world’s leading advertising agencies, the Olympic Games, the NFL, NBA, and Major League Baseball, and top brands including Adidas, Pepsi, Comcast, Riot, Activision Blizzard and Tencent.
