Over the past 25 years, Dr. Marc Williams has been widely regarded as a sports marketing pioneer and worked for three of the largest sports brands in the world: Champs Sports, Footaction and Reebok, helping Champs Sports become a $1 billion brand. Currently, he is the assistant vice-president of innovation and technology, and the associate director of athletics at Jarvis Christian College. He is founder and former commissioner of The Yard: HBCU Esports Alliance. Williams is a pioneer in sports and entertainment and was instrumental in signing hip hop Grammy Award-winning artist Eve and Ruff Ryder Records as the first hip hop/athletic retail deal in history. He also negotiated product placement for athletic retailer Footaction in the 2003 award-winning “Streethoops” basketball game by videogame publisher Activision/Blizzard and was the co-creator for the AND1 Mix Tape Tour. The Esports Observer named Williams' work with The Yard as its No. 2 story in its “Top Five Stories of the Year” list for 2020. Most recently, Williams was selected as one of the top 100 Influential Black Leaders in the World and was selected as one of the Top 25 Black Educators in Miami.
