Jake Utities is the head of esports for Fenworks, which is the primary provider for scholastic esports in five states. He has helped over 120 schools start their esports programs since starting the first one in Minnesota in 2017. He has seen the positive effect of esports on his students firsthand, and has made it his mission to spread esports to help more kids feel connected and happy at school while also gaining essential life and vocational skills. He also is a founding member of the Interstate Scholastic Esports Alliance, a national member group of individual academic esports leagues and organizations, which now is comprised of 24 state leagues serving over 70,000 students. Prior to working at in esports, he was a business and technology teacher for six years at St. Louis Park High School, and holds a degree in entrepreneurship and marketing from the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities, as well as a maste'rs in teaching from Bethel University.
