Ray Smith is director of gaming and esports at NASCAR where he oversees the day-to-day operations of eNASCAR and its esports competitions, leagues and officially sanctioned series. Since joining NASCAR in 2020, Smith has helped grow eNASCAR through new series and activations, including the launch of the eNASCAR College iRacing Series in February 2022. Prior to NASCAR, Smith worked in marketing and fan development at Richmond Raceway, developing the track’s first esports team, Rise Esports, in partnership with Virginia State University. A Virginia native, Smith also spent 10 years with the Washington Nationals.
