Sean Pate is the brand marketing and communications officer for Zenni Optical, overseeing the company’s brand partnership and marketing communications efforts for the nation’s leading online eyewear retailer. Pate joined the Zenni team in 2017 as the company sought to bolster its consumer awareness and education around the value proposition of its market-disrupting prescription eyewear prices. As part of that effort, he architected the company’s first sports marketing partnership, aligning with the Chicago Bulls as their first jersey patch sponsor and Official Eyewear Partner and has since added the San Francisco 49ers, Boston Red Sox and multiple esports teams (Golden Guardians, Nets Gaming Crew, Houston Outlaws, Pittsburgh Knights) including the Call of Duty League to the roster of team and league partnerships. A senior brand marketing expert, Pate has led strategy for multiple household name consumer tech brands including StubHub and Ancestry during his 20-plus-year career. Prior to his role at Zenni, he returned to the ticketing space, spending three years as head of communications at mobile ticket marketplace Gametime. He has also led teams with international footprints at Ancestry and Art.com, managing and collaborating on multi-national lines of business. His early career focused on developing communications best practices and insights at agency and corporate roles including Oracle, Robert Half International and the Pac-12 Conference.
