Tiago Fernandes is a seasoned leader with extensive experience in the global Esports ecosystem. In 2002, he founded Grow uP Esports, one of the world’s oldest Esports clubs, and has since dedicated his career to connecting competitive gaming with education and community development. As a lecturer, he bridges grassroots esports with institutional frameworks, fostering its integration into both educational systems and the broader sports landscape. Deeply committed to education and social inclusion, Fernandes is the co-founder and co-director of the Adaptive Esports Summit, a pioneering event focused on accessibility and inclusion in Esports, as well as co-director of the GIRLGAMER Esports Festival, the world’s largest women’s empowerment event in Esports. Throughout his career, he has held prominent institutional leadership roles, including president of the Portuguese Esports Federation, board member of the International Esports Federation, and vice-president of the European Esports Federation. He currently serves as vice-president of the Portuguese Esports Federation.
